Refund policy

Return & Refund Policy

We offer a return policy in line with the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, contact us at info@buhlex.com. All returns must first be discussed with our customer service team. If your return is accepted, we'll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Cooling-Off Period (Electronic Transactions)

In accordance with Section 44 of the ECTA, if you purchased goods through our website (an electronic transaction), you have the right to cancel the transaction within 7 days after receiving the goods, without reason and without penalty. The only charge that may apply is the direct cost of returning the goods. Refunds for cancellations under this section will be processed within 30 days of cancellation.

Please note that the Section 44 cooling-off period does not apply to certain goods, including but not limited to: goods made to your specifications, perishable goods, newspapers, periodicals, audio/video recordings or software that have been unsealed, and gaming or lottery services.

Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Items

Under Section 56 of the CPA, read with the implied warranty in Section 55, you are entitled to goods that are of good quality, in good working order, free of defects, and reasonably suitable for their intended purpose. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect.

If, within 6 months of delivery, the goods are found to be defective, unsafe, or not as described, you may return them at our cost and choose to receive:

  • a repair,
  • a replacement, or
  • a full refund.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned, including:

  • perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants),
  • custom or personalised products made to your specifications,
  • personal care and beauty products,
  • hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases,
  • unsealed audio, video, or software products,
  • gift cards.

Sale items are not returnable unless they are defective or fall under the protections of the CPA.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get what you want is to return the original item, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds

We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know whether the refund has been approved. If approved, you will be refunded to your original payment method:

  • within 30 days for cancellations under Section 44 of the ECTA, or
  • within 10 business days for other approved returns.

Please remember that your bank or card issuer may take additional time to process and post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you have not received it, please contact us at info@buhlex.com.
